Playdates, Poops, and Toots

8 Weeks old and watching Tag play from the sidelines for now (where its safer!)

Tag is all boy! His Grandma Julie was laughing at him the other day as he burped and then tooted in succession and told his daddy proudly about each.  Pack on the other hand has been struggling to have any bowel movements- going as long as 6 days.  I have finally figured out that my diet was the problem.  I have started soaking a T of flax seeds for a couple of hours and then drinking them daily along with adding more veggies and fruits.  In response he has started having a once a day blowout (and this was with just adding the flax for a couple of days).  We are going on four days in a row and I'm so relieved.  Hopefully he will start having multiple ones to save his clothes, but this is so much better!

We just enjoyed 10 days down in sunny St. George and loved the warmer weather where we could take Tag to the park, and enjoy being outside!  We stayed at the house Jordan lives in since the guys were gone for Christmas vacation.  It's a nice place, but it took 6 hours to get it to my standard of clean.  Boys!  One of Jordan's roommates came by to move out and gave Tag his first motorcycle ride- I dare say he is hooked.  Here he is hugging the gas tank not wanting to get off-  Thanks Wes!

He also enjoyed playing with his cousins on Dad's side.  Uncle Geoff helped the girls create a cool fort down by the river next to Grandma's house.  Tag had fun throwing sticks in the water and getting dirty.

Tag's little buddy Airik came over to play yesterday.  Within minutes Tag was crying from being pushed off the piano bench.   Oh the age of 2!  Tag pushed a little boy down at the park in St. George and the next day after we had been on a walk he said "Want to push the boy down".   He is also really into hitting the baby and even me.  He says "Want to hit baby" several times a day.   He has hit the couch pillows a couple of times since I've suggested that they are OK to hit, not people.  We're making progress.  It's good to have a friend around to have some turn about for him!  They had a blast playing on my bed and getting into everything.

January 10- A Happy Birthday

The eldest- 20 and youngest 8 wks

I can't believe the span, but on the 10th Jordan turned 20 and Pack 8 weeks old.  Where does the time go?  I can't think of a bigger blessing than being a mother.  I am so grateful to have these 4 boys and was blessed to have all 4 together with us for a few days before Christmas.  What a joy!  Tag LOVED playing with Jordan and Michael and this mom loved getting to be in their presence.  I have learned so much from being a mom, but Jordan brought the biggest changes to me as I had just turned 20 myself when he was born.  He blessed me so by allowing me to be his mom.  Sadly for him he was the one who was the biggest guinea pig for my mothering skills.  I'm glad he has such a big heart and loves me despite.  Tag and Pack have a much wiser mom I hope, though a lot more tired too!  January 10th was also my Aunt Joan's birthday.  I don't think it is a coincidence that so many birthdays are connected to relatives and ancestors.  Jordan shares it with my namesake, Pack with Momsie, Michael with his Uncle JonJon and  cousin-in-law Maui... Family- it's what this life is all about and I am so grateful to be blessed with such a wonderful one by birth and marriage.

Taggisms, Part 2

Tag's vocabulary is starting to blossom and there are two quotes I have to quickly mark down before I forget.

First, just before Pack was born, Joann tried her best to wean Tag from the breast feeding and he was mostly done with it.  However, as soon as Tag noticed baby Pack nursing, Tag has wanted back in, but Joann was doing her best to give Pack the priority.  Anyway, the other day Tag walked up to Joann and said, matter-of-factly, "Mom, I need some boob."

This still makes me laugh just thinking about it.  Then a few days later, as both he and Pack were nursing (making Joann look like a milk factory), Tag noticed me coming into the room and he proudly broke free and said to me, "Daddy, I got Mama Wa!"  (Mama Wa is what Tag calls breast milk).

I replied, "You do??"

To which he said, proudly with a hint of joy, "Yeah!  I so yucky!" (yucky = lucky)...

----------

Today, while at a rather boring Church service, Tag was doing pretty well to stay still and quiet.  There was a returned missionary sister speaking and as she stood up to give her remarks, I pointed her out to Tag and told him that she was a missionary, to which he repeated the word and seemed to forget it.  Then, about 15 minutes later as the woman's talk was dragging on, Tag came and sat back on my lap.  He looked up at me and said, "I want the missionary to be DONE."

Don't we all, son, don't we all.  We've been laughing about that quote all afternoon.
