I found out that my new venture allows me to work from wherever I am, and I am already looking for my next patio with an ocean view with which to work! I could really get used to that, provided I don't view a tsunami coming ashore. Crazy what is happening in Japan with that huge quake and follow up tsunami. It's amazing how quickly things can go bad and it reminded Joann and I how relevant it is for us to heed our prophet's recommendation for a good 2-year supply.
Tag is growing up before my eyes. He had so much fun at the beach. Before we left, he had never really experienced the great outdoors, what with the snow and cold of Utah. His favorite things were birds, throwing things in the pool, making friends and climbing and descending hills. There were small airplanes flying by, pulling large ad banners, and Tag stopped whatever he was doing whenever they flew by and pointed and yelled to make sure I saw it too. He loves airplanes.
I took a ton of photos of the trip and will place some of my favorites below. When I was proofing this post, I found myself rolling my eyes at myself on some of this trip. There were times when I felt quite frustrated and confined as we settled in to our condo. The best way to describe my feelings is that at times I felt cheated from being able to try kite boarding, surfing or other fun activities. All I could do was follow Tag around the pool and this was a drag...at first. It was not until I reminded myself that I only have a tiny little boy for a small moment that my attitude shifted and I loved following Tag around, showing him off to the other guests and exploring the world through his eyes. I officially apologize to my lovely wife for being a selfish pain at times. Luckily for me, she is the most forgiving person I know.
It's my Dad's birthday today and we are taking him to dinner on Friday night. It's great to have him so close by, and despite he and Babs getting nervous with Tag visiting their non-Tag-proof home, it's fun to see my Dad be a grandpa. In fact, when we landed in Salt Lake, Dad picked us up and he held Tag while Joann and went back in for the luggage. When we returned, Tag didn't want to go to either Joann or me, which made Grandpa very happy and proud.
Things are starting to pop in our little business and we are beginning to feel some light at end of the dark tunnel that has been the last few years. I find myself moving carefully along, so as not to awake the drama Gods to our sense of a comeback!
Enjoy the Photos.
