April...or is it?

All of my in-laws gathered at Momsie and Papaw's this weekend to watch LDS General Conference and to be together.  This gathering brings the pandemonium that only 11 grandkids under the age of 8 can bring.  Mostly, though, we enjoyed good food, several passionate discussions, laughs, and 12 inches of snow outside!  Seriously, it was 74 degrees on Friday then snowed 12 inches yesterday, and is supposed to reach 65 on Tuesday.  You just gotta love spring in Utah.

General Conference is a special weekend for members of our church.  During the two day conference, we get to hear from the Prophet of the Church and from many of the 12 Apostles.  Our church is organized in exactly the same way the Savior organized his church while on the earth with Prophets and Apostles called and set apart to lead and administer the affairs of what has become a worldwide organization with more than 14 million members.

During this conference, President Monson announced three new temples.  One in Idaho, Canada, and one under construction in Rome.  Now, 85% of all members are within 200 miles of a temple, where they can perform important ordinances.  This is an astonishing accomplishment.

We also enjoyed the Final Four on Saturday night.  Two mid-majors, VCU and Butler played in the first game and it was a great game.  I just love March Madness, where any team can get on a roll and make it to the dance.  Butler won and will play UConn for the championship Monday night.  I'll be wearing a Butler jersey!
